Ariston RD11s under rated ?

I've been on the prowl for a second TT . I'd like a belt drive & suspension as I have in my Thorens .
Found a Linn LP 12 - very highly regarded here . But these are $$ .
When looking at the Ariston RD 11 it seems it shares many of the qualities/specs
as the LP 12 linn .
So my Frazzled brain thought the Ariston may be a good choice at Half the price .

The arm on the ARISTON is a shure series lll SME .I think this is better suited for
mm cart's which is what I'll be using - Bonus on the package is a Grado gold cart

Arm on the Linn is an Ittok [ I think is "better " ] no cartridge .

Any ARISTON fans ?

Had one. Pretty decent table, and actually is what Linn used to be. Running a Grado on the SME lll, you'll want the silicone damping system.
The Ittok is a fine arm.....better than the SME lll? Only in it's more suited to carts of "modern" compliances. The SME lll was designed for the 35cu and up carts of the 70's
 
Very nice tables indeed. I'm not so sure they are underappreciated as undervalued. I use one in my living room system (came with SME 3009 S2) and it is an excellent music maker. Mine is quiet as a mouse in terms of mechanical noise, keeps speed really well and is even pretty to look at. Unlike my TD-125 it is immune to floor movement as well.
 
I'm pretty sure the arm has some sort of oil dampening .
I think its worth a shot . the only reservation is the tone arm adjustment it looks like a beast !

No, the adjustment isn't hard, just read the instructions until you understand what it is. Overhang is via sliding the arm on its mount. It is a "critical" arm in that it is set up like SME says to do it. The table can be a bit to set up if you're unfamiliar with a 3 point sprung suspension.
