I found this turntable for my step-son the other day and after close examination found it to be better that it looked on first examination....It is clearly an Philips clone of some kind and at first glance looks only average and possibly a direct drive....However on closer inspection it has a well designed and well buily arm.....it is a belt drive with a really good quality motor and it has a well designed circuit board to control the speed of the table. The speed is ajustable for 33 and 45 to +or- 3% . It has a built in stylus pressure guage which is again of a good design..It came with a Philips 401 mark 3 cartridge which has the markings of III B on the stylus body. I can find some limited data on it on the internet that confirm that it has very respectable performance figures. It seems to have been built in the late 80s. It is semi auto matic and its build quality is very good.and it sounds great......does anyone else know anything about these tables ?
