Asaalah has passed.

This is sad news. I had been trying to contact him for some more cabinets with no response and now I know why. He was a pleasure to deal with and talk to. Rest in peace Joe.

All good craftsmen leave a physical legacy that most more generic folk can't. Having seen pics of his work on AK, along with reading the feedback/ raves from happy recipients of his talents, assures one that he'll live on through his work. Rest easy, Joe, hope you can carry on in the next realm of existence. :bye::angel:

I sent a PM to member Asaalah, Joe, today. Thanking him for cabinet he made for my Marantz, last year. Looking deeper for his last activity. I saw a note his wife Cindy left in his profile. Joe passed away last February 22. I don't know if this is known within AK. I didn't know Joe, except by PM conversation.
RIP, Joe.
Here's one piece of Joy, that Joe made for an appreciative AKer. It's gorgeous.View attachment 2919001
Gosh I didn't know he passed. I just stumbled upon this thread. He made an amazing case for my Marantz 2275. RIP :(

The world lost a good craftsman !

I just came across this thread after trying to contact Joe to make another case. Very sorry to hear he passed. He made this custom case for two old mono McIntosh C8/C8S preamps for me. Superb craftsman and nice to work with. He also made a custom Marantz 18 case for me. I tried to get him to stain them a lighter oak finish but he said he only did walnut. I’m glad I did the walnut… RIP, Joe

Very sad to see this today. I last contacted Joe in Jan 2022 for Marantz 2270 cabinet. Life got in the way for me and I never bought the cabinet. Now I have the funds and a need, I looked him up and found this.

He did amazing work and was a very nice man. RIP Joe

I don't know Joe. He was obviously a talented craftsman! Nice for folks to honor his life and work here! RIP, Joe. I wish I had met you.

Just coming across this news now as I've been out of the loop for a few years. RIP Joe. Glad I was lucky enough to have crossed your path and had the opportunity to own a few of your precious finely crafted wood cases. RIP brother.
