She is a better actress than singer,neither Simpsom sibling are great singers IMHO.Jessica may be better,if they changed her toonage to more bluesy,torchy stuff.

These days they market the who package,singing is just one of the factors that get you too the limelight.

Ashley 'n' Jessica surely to God ain't as stupid as they appear on TV...They couldn't be...NOBODY'S that damn dumb..Besides, they must be doing something right as both of 'em are stars. Speaking of nitwits, would anybody else like to throttle Kelly Ripa ? I thought Kathie Lee Goody-Goody -2-Shoes was bad, but...GRRRRRRR !!-Sandy G.
 
I heard a Paul Harvey story about the English version of American Idol (Pop Star, I think?). Anyways, I guess they had to cancel a planned concert from last year's winner because only TWO people bought tickets!!! I think they should have made them perform anyways.

Oh I have to disagree re: Kelly Ripa. I don't catch a lot of her show but she's much less irritating than Kathie Lee Gifford. Kelly doesn't spend the whole hour divulging the lives of a philandering husband and 2 obnoxious children. :)

Kelly's growing on me. Kathie Lee did get annoying talking about how smart her 2 kids were.

The Simpsons (Ashlee and Jessica, not Bart and Lisa) will be stars because of their stupidity, not their talent. I loved the episode of Newlyweds where Nick took Jessica to Oktoberfest ("It's like, all old people!"). Some of Jessica's keen observations on bratwurst:

"It's called a bratsworth."
"It's white because German pigs are white inside."
"It comes from, like, the chop of a pork."

I was watching that last night. I thought that the band sounded pretty good, and that not having a vocal was an fine with me. They should have just let the band finish the song as an instrumental, but they cut it off.
 
The irony to this is that MAD TV did a goof on both the Simpson sluts, er, I mean untalented whores. In it they have a bit about Jessica (the brown haired one) in the recording studio singing horribly and the engineers tweaking the mixing board until she sounds like any of the other current bimbo pop stars. Is even funnier now that this crap happened last night.

I feel bad for her, but not as bad as us having to watch her "dancing". That couldn't give a chubby to a lifer in a Turkish prison on Viagra. How embarrassinK!

I tend to find that the more "produced" an album or concert, the less talented an individual performer is. That's why I liked the Grateful Dead and still enjoy live Bruce Hornsby: when they hit the stage, they have no idea what they're going to play. Heck, they often play 3-4 songs in a row that aren't even theirs! (Studio musicians enjoy the challenge.)

I'll bet folks like the Simpsons and Britney Spears are choreographed through 2007... :worried:

[A & R man] - Yeah! We'll cross promote on Jessica's reality show, get 30x the advertising we could get anywhere else and then send her on the mall-rock circuit!

[DM of SMCorp] - You got it. They are stars because WE say they are. Just like that NSynch guy's little bro, Aaron Carter.

[A&R] I remember him! We just had a bunch of 1 minute commercials for his album on Nickelodeon and those little suckers bought him up in a pinch!

[DM of SMCorp] - Well, get the tour ready and tell Jessica to start learning the words. She doesnt need to be perfect becuz we'll have her lip-synch like the rest of 'em (NSYNCH, Backstreet Boys, Britney, Avril, Madonna, etc...).

THING TO THINK ABOUT: Weren't Milli Vanilli stripped of awards because of their lip-synching? Today's teen pop-stars couldn't live without it!!
