[ASK] Sansui AU-5500 Bass Midrange Treble Problem

Hello AKers,

I just bought Sansui AU-5500 amp.
Funny thing is the Bass, Midrange and Treble potensiometers seem to be dead.
I turn them clockwise and counterclockwise but nothing change.
Have you guys ever had this before ?
Any clue ?

The tone controls won't have any effect with the switch set to defeat. They the bass and treble with thus switch set to either position

I know this is an old thread, I didn't want to start a new one. but where would the Defeat switch be on a 9900z I have the same issue with the Bass and treble not doing anything. I was thinking it was caps, but if its just a switch. that would save so much work. would it just be the Tone button?

Yes. On newer models the defeat is usually labled tone.
