I have spent a long while wishing to move into a McIntosh system but this is disproportionally expensive in Australia.Over the last few months, it has finally come together. The MCD 500 arrived today ,and is now playing absolutely beautiful music through the MC 2300 and 501's , Sonus Faber Cremonas, and Stax 4040's.
The digital input on MCD500 is the icing on the cake when hooked up to the Wadia i170. Playing the iPod with Apple Lossless compression is very,very close to CD quality but not a match for the SACD quality through the MCD 500.
Audio quality 100% . Visual appeal 100% . Joy of ownership and sheer pleasure of the system 100%. I'm hooked!
