AT-VM95E > Goldring E3 = tinnitus

Hello,

Got a Audio Technica AT-LP5X. Changed the cartridge from the stock AT-VM95E to a Goldring E3 today. Got tinnitus in my left ear that I usually don't notice, unless I play loud music. Redid the adjustment with the protractor to be sure, but still the same. I think the sound doesn't sound as good either as it did with the stock AT-VM95E.

I did the mistake getting it correct with the protractor before weighing it. It was 3.5g when I put it on the weight. Can I've ruined it?

If you're getting tinnitus it's not the cartridge causing it. Turn the volume down...

Varies between records I've found. First two times I used the protractor, I did it wrong. Third time, and the sound is great.
