Those are the same bass bins I have without the horns. I use them with the Heresys and they sound great if crossed over right, otherwise can be a bit boomy. Than again, I don't have the original drivers in them. I would suppose they use the B15, wouldn't you all think the same? Still, a good deal just in drivers alone. Would well be worth it. Maybe I wrong on the driver issue.
Although now I wonder. Will check that out.
I wouldn't think mine were cheesy. Better than the lightweight Eminence that was in there. My replacements were 89 bucks apiece back in 91. I don't see how that type of cabinet could not avoid being somewhat boomy.
EV Sentry IVs. Those are VERY good speakers, same mid and treble as Sentry III. The SM-120 midrange horn used is one of the best sounding horns I ever used; wide dispersion and excellent tone.
It would be worthwhile for a guy with LaScalas to buy them just for the SM-120s; when I had LSs I replaced the stock mid horns with SM-120s and the wider dispersion did a great deal to lessen the LS's flame-thrower effect, IMO&E it's the best thing one can do to make LSs sound better. Better imaging too.
The Sentry IV basshorn uses twin 12s with foam surrounds, Freddy Ireson had to refoam his. No big deal.
Some confuse the Sentry IV basshorn with the earlier EV Eliminator basshorn which used a single 15. The Sentry basshorn is larger and goes deeper.
I told you Tom would approve, Jack. If it's huge, and has horns and isn't a Lascala, it's got a good shot at getting the Brennan seal of approval. That gives me an idea.
Be aware, that this guy has a habit of telling you something is available, then when you call back to go get directions to pick it up, then telling you he either doesn't want to sell, or he only wants to sell ONE of them.

I can't understand why people are like this... I had a similar deal.. the guy had 4 crown amps and a pile of stuff for sale.. I call as soon as the ad posts, and he says come get them.. I run out the door, get there.. no crowns, and a pile of crap.. Guess it was a bait and switch trying to get people come pay retail prices for all of his leftover nightclub junk gear..
