Attachment management question

If you want to use an attachment you've previously uploaded to AK in a posting how to do this? I've tried going to the attachment and using the URL on AK for the purpose and am told the it isn't legit. Is there any trick I need to know? I don't want to have to rename the file just to get it uploaded again. What to do to attach it to my new posting?

Its built in to the software not to allow the same pic to be uploaded multiple times. You could always resize or rename the photo and then the software will think its a new pic.

Not sure what you came across re: it isn't legit. What I do is go to the thread i originally attached the image to, open the image in it's own tab (no peripheral AK page content). Grab the url out of the address pane in the tab that opened the image and copy it into the image dialog box in the new message.
Thusly:
attachment.php

Ah cool. Yeah I suppose you could do the hotlink thing from AK to AK.

Yeh. i have found this a bit easier than re-sizing, re-naming and re-uploading. And of course, It also works with pics from the galleries off my profile page.

I tried to do that from my attachments section and was told the URL wasn't legit, but I didn't try it from the original posting itself. I'll give it a whirl....

Well, it posted the links to the images if not the thumbnails. To be found in Wheels etc. Thanks for the advice!

Interestingly (to me at least) because the attachment was first posted in one of the Subscriber Only sections only such folk can see them even when the new posting is in the general section. Why I don't know.....
