Big azz Sansui receiver in picture #9 and what looks to be a couple of pairs of JBL's in the last picture.
There could be anything behind the tandoor doors on that console in the second to last pic and the one before it.It looks just like the one I got my Fisher 500c out of.

If I had nothing better to do, I'd go. Can't tell if that's a Sansui receiver in the 9th pic, right side. And what's that R2R laying down in the same pic left side? Now if it's a place where they always get big buyers and close to populated areas....then it's iffy. If it's in the boon docks, I'd be all over it.

Why do they HAVE to make the photos in these things ALWAYS so gotdang Teeny-Tiny & indistinct that you REALLY can't tell anything ?!? Arrrrrrgh...Not like I'm goin' anyway, just sayin'...

are those speakers under the left side of the table in pic 9? Also, what Sansui receiver is that? Can anyone tell? It's in the boonies for sure...

Yes. the R2R on it's back looks interesting. I also wonder what the third thing down in the left hand pile of the fist picture is.

thank you. I was sure it wasn;t a Sansui, although the meters under the dial make it loook like that.

that third thing down in the fiorst pic is some kinda homemade gizmo, I'd bet.

There's a sansui quad adapter too.

Might be neat, but I'm not getting up.

maybe

Man, I haven't been to a good auction in forever.
TOO many collectors and flippers in the city area.
And the rules suck (buyer's premium, tax, screw that).
I come from farm country. Few people, what you bid is what you pay, period.
Auctions are like CL or Yard Sales with detailed ads.
You know what is there and so does everyone else.
Sometimes no one shows for the stuff you are interested in and its a score.
Other times, man-o-man, one or ten people there are just nuts for the stuff you want. I blame the internet and "antique" shows. People bid like its the lastest-rarest-bestest ever! Sometimes I just watch and wonder.

I'd go if there were NO yards sales to check (you can dicker there), no thrift stores to check (prices set but no dickering) and nothing else more interesting to do. I used to go to auction specifically to get something but too many times, too many other people came for the same things.

I dicker (and win) with my thrift stores all the time, but they have insane prices. $50 for a 30 year old Yamaha receiver. No, not one that is worth that. $35 for turntbales with broken off arms!

I see a sale like that, I look more that non electronics than I do the electronics.. In this case, maybe a pair of speakers might look good, and there is one interesting piece The reel to reel... looks to be like dual mono tube amps..

A couple other things I noticed.. the 3 gallon jug with the 3 in a heart.. worth a couple bucks if you get it cheap.. You seldomg see them labled with a heart like that... Women love that stuff and pay for it...

Also, the bowler.. It looks to be an equestrian riding hat.. if it is, and if it's made by one of a couple well known tack shops, it could be worth a nice little pile of change..

Also, next to the speakers.. there is what looks to be a home built box. I ALWAYS look in those, no telling what they might hold..

i have looked at these pics more than once. the rtr looks cool but i wonder what is directly below it in the last pic. looks top be brown face with what could be a bunch o knobs.

i bet the jugs will have much bid activety. wonder if they are local to the area, lots of pottery and such in that area produced.

The first pair of speakers might be ADS, they have the black grill cloths, with rounded edges and also a small square badge on the bottom left corner. Could be 810's, or 710's.

See any audio items worth driving 50 miles to bid on?

I'd say it all depends on how much you like driving... there looked like some cool stuff, that if priced right, could be fun, but is it worth a 100 miles of driving? I look at these excursions as adventures rather than trips to buy stuff, that way if something is sold or not what it was advertised to be, it was only aspect of the journey that gets ruined... If you look at it as a nice drive in the country, then you won't be [as] disappointed if you don't come home with any gear.

Those lawn jockeys go for crazy money up here($200-300),especially if the paint is fairly complete.

What pic are the (maybe) ADS in? The ones under the table to the left in pic 9? Also, where is that home made box?

It looks like an old projector under the RTR... Just to the left of the yellow "short wave television" book I see a couple of capacitors sticking out...
