AU-505 rolled in........

Howdy,
My Au-505 rolled in, and got it set up for a listen, radio only for the
moment, using a T-80 Sansui tuner,.....Absolutely shocked at the
depth of sound this little sucker puts out,....22wpc!, sounds like 3
or 4X that, NO issues whatever, sound wise,....cab is straight, needs
a 'bath', wood trim on ends is a bit dinged, but will probably replace
with a couple pieces of solid hardwood....First impressions, sounds
excellent! Sweet, Sansui-like, and again, a ton of depth, surprising...

Au / Tu 505

Congratulations on the Sansui AU-505 score. I think it's a sweet sounding amp and I like the black early 70's Sansui look.

I have the amp and tuner in my kitchen, tuned to the local jazz station when I'm in there, and driving a pair of Small Advents.

We 'spoke' a week or two ago, Have to try it out with the baby Advents,
I've been listening to everything from Fourplay to Oscar P. Jr,tonight, and
am really impressed with the amp,..Don't know what I was expecting, but
am really enjoying the sound, needs a bit of cosmetics, but otherwise a

A couple pics of AU-505,.....Totally sold on the sound, massive
transformers, currently contemplating replacing side panels in
solid walnut, got to go dig through wood pile, very happy with
