AU 717 Protection Relay are there better choices?

For Omron relays, the "02" designation following the MY2 or MY4 indicates PCB terminals for direct board installation. The plug-in terminals are wider than the PCB types, and have openings to allow the soldering of wires directly onto them. For example, in the Marantz 2270, the relay connections require soldered wires.

No, the relay voltage and type is critical - it must be exactly right, in this case 24V DC.

(Don't worry about the ".co.uk" Internet locations of these sites, when you click on the link it should translate to your country supplier website).

This part is freely available, (and you can use MY4-02-DC24), but you might not find it in your local area. ;)

Hello all ,
Sorry for hijacking , it just a question .
I have order from mouser the relay mention above ( for the AU517 ) .

But I have around 30 of this relays (pic. below)
brand new but I can’t find any info about their faction on the internet, have you seen this before ?
Will it work for the AU517 (pins looks are fitting)
and is it even worth it ?
Cheers
Kostis

Looks like they have a single set of contacts (per side) which will affect maximum switching current handling, and possibly long term reliability.

I recently ordered the MY2-02-DC24 to replace the original relay in an AU-717 that I am restoring. After I got the F-2663 board rebuilt, I tried to reinstall the board. Turns out the original relay has a height of 1.275”. The Omron measures 1.425” height. What fun! I had to reinstall the board from the bottom side, without the brackets. Then, screw the brackets to the board, and then, screw the brackets to the chassis.
The AU-717 is the only Sansui that I’ve seen where the relay height mattered.

the best relay i tried so far is pt271024 TE Connectivity. now available @ https://www.onlinecomponents.com/en...G1-cQh93zx6XoqCH9VUaAknFEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

@mouser and DigiKey for some reason it is not available.

Thanks for the tip!
Seems like relay stock is spotty like that. I’ve experienced this in the past. And many configurations are flat unavailable! Kind of like how many film cap configurations are never available.

I was not amused, when the Omron MY relay was too tall to fit the F-2663 board back in the way it came out!
