AU-919 speaker wire spring clip/binding posts

The early AU-919 had the spring clips and then Sansui switched to the better binding posts on later models.

Aside from that, are the early 919's identical internally to the later 919's or were there other changes?

Hopefully those of you that have detailed knowledge of these units can advise. I'm in the market for a 919 and would like to know if I should avoid the spring clip version.

I can't think of a reason that you should avoid an early one - apart from the speaker terminals themselves. The binding post models (I have one) can have the binding posts a bit abused due to people insisting on using speaker cables the thickness of your arm. This might mean eventual replacement which doesn't look too difficult for either model.

There are many small internal differences, none of which amount to a hill of beans IMO - the AU-919, any AU-919 is a great amplifier - if it hasn't been mucked about with.
