I had an issue with signal, coming and going, intermittently, while recording vinyl. The wave form would go flat, then come back. Only the wave form. Monitoring was not affected.
I was getting a "Drop out" on my RE20 mic. But it was different. And, led to a rabbit hole I could have avoided. Audacity will show this has a number of causes. None were mine.
All analog sources, go through an Alesis 12R board > Volt2 > Windows 11.
The issue was "Audio Enhancement". Buried in the Sound Settings. Seems to be AI.
I don't know when the setting changed. I lost many hours. I turned it off. All is well.
