Hi,
I kept scratching my head to understand why the output was so low on a modified HK Ballad amplifier, until I found that the TU-101 output transformers (documentation here) were configured in 16 ohm, with pint 12 grounded, and the 8 ohm position picked from the last 45 turns (so pins 10/11). This section is definitely not an 8-ohm load. Probably 4 ohms but not sure and in any case not with full possible power.
So I made a small schematic with a real middle point. I wanted to make sure that all windings are wound in the same direction because the 4/5 ohms configuration is a bit confusing on the original doc. Any opinions ? Thanks
