Audio Concepts Inc Passive Sub question

Hey folks! I just picked up a pair of Audio Concepts Inc LV mini monitors and a matching passive sub.

My reading on other forums suggests that the ACI subs used a high pass filter to send signal to the sub first, and then high-passed to the L and R monitors.

My sub's input panel looks like this:

The original owner was kind enough to mark right channel in and out, but not left channel. Logic would suggest that if the markings are correct, the outer side terminals are R and L from the amp, and the center terminals are high passed to the monitors.

I know some of you own these subs, could anyone confirm the original ACI layout for hookup?

Don't know for sure, but my guess is the far left inputs are left channel "in". The next pair are left channel "out". Just as you surmised.

The panel is only holding the terminals in place, there are no crossover parts visible without removing the 12" woofer.

But frankly that's easy enough too
 
Well, one way to tell for sure- feed the sub a 40Hz test tone from a signal generator hooked up to your amp, and without changing the volume control setting- try both sets of jack pairs. Which ever jack pair has the LOUDEST output from the sub, is the correct input. The one with less output will have been "back feeding" from the highpass output- which would reduce the bass level.

Makes sense. You'd find the high pass section pretty quick I bet.

Alright, I've opened the cabinet up and traced the crossover. Both sides are symmetrical and physically mirrored and they look like this:

I am a crossover dum dum. But to me, it would look like "Inner" would be the input from the amp. As drawn, leftward moves through a simple capacitor high pass; rightward moves through an LC low pass

I've only got nice amps here so I'd like to confirm as much as possible before I plug in and turn up :) could anyone offer a well informed second opinion?
 
Figured it out.

For anyone in the future:
- this is a passive mono sub from ACI. I don't know the model, but this is the dual VC woofer that's all over the Internet
- I cannot vouch whether this was wired from factory or a competent hobbyist
- there's a schematic above. "Inner" refers to the amp terminals, "outer" refers to the monitor high-pass outs.

Makes sense - in = input; out = output.

I found single vc ACI passive subs with labels, but no pictures of dvc.
 
You should be able to measure the resistance.

Input posts will be the woofer 5 or 10 ohms including the inductor.

The output set will show a capacitor charging to a very high resistance.
