I just picked up a pair of AES monoblocks that originally began life as SE-811. Somewhere in their journey they were sent back to the Cary factory in NC and upgraded to use 845. Evidence of this includes visible changes under chassis, removal of interstage transformers, added parts, metalwork to accommodate the 845 socket, and Cary serial number stickers on the bottom panels with a model change to SE-845. Aside from a bit of hum in high efficiency speakers, they sound really nice, perhaps the best match yet for my Altec 604. I contacted Cary for any info they had surrounding the upgrade, schematic, etc, but since they abandoned the AES business a while ago, they no longer have any records. So, any info you folks have on these amps would be greatly appreciated. The tube complement is now 6SL7 input, 6BL7 driver, and 845 output. It appears that the power supply was not changed to a higher voltage supply, so B+ for the 845 is probably in the 800 volt range. Here are photos of one of the two amps for reference. Cool, I have a pair of the SE 811-3 ones, I really like them. Would love to hear yours.

I use mine with a pair of Altec Flamenco's.
 
I remember when these came out, I believe they were designed around a Russian tube (Svetlana). They were sold as kits. I assembled it's predecessor, the SE-1 300B amp which I love to listen to and it still performs flawlessly. My SE-1 was one of AES's first kit offerings.
 
Nice looking amps! 845 SETs are generally straightforward. It shouldn't be too difficult to trace the wiring and create a schematic.
