Audio Technica AT150Ti VM Anyone?

Just bought an AT150Ti VM, which is the AT150MLX with a titanium cantilever rather than boron. Anyone listened to either? I needed a third cartridge for my plethora of Sony TTs (PS-8750, -X75, -X70 & -X65) and wanted to try something different. Apparently only the boron model is imported here. I bought mine out of Japan (big risk, but I'm a trusting type). Seller has all ready thanked me, and refunded my shipping as he is sending free to the U.S. Thats a good sign. Here is a link to the AT150Ti VM http://cgi.ebay.com/Audio-Technica-...ryZ64620QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem and a link to the AT150MLX http://www.needledoctor.com/Audio-Technica-Cartridge-150-MLX?sc=2&category=363

Guess no one is interested, but I'll keep trying.

The feet for the Sony PS-X75 don't arrive unitl Saturday. But, the headshells on all my Sony TTs are interchangeable, so I mounted the AT150Ti in the PS-X75 headshell and swapped it out with the Kontrapunk B in the PS-8750. From what I've read about the AT440MLa I expected it to start out harsh and bright. Couldn't be further from what it sounds like. While doesn't have the top or bottom of the K-b, it has two outstanding features from the moment the stylus hit the vinyl. Quiet. Virtually no surface noise (although I do my best to keep my LPs clean). First play is Van Morrison's "Moondance" on a WB Super Disk pressing. I bought this album new when it was released in the 80's and probably played it a hundred times. Don't think I've ever heard the mid-range sound so good. What a great job the AT150Ti is doing on the mid-to-lower-mid range. Can't wait to get some Pavarotti and Janice Ian and other vocals going. Very pleased with the $165 thus far. Here's a pic.

Talking to yourself again, Glenn?

Sounds like a decent cart. It's just not widely known, hence the lack of replies. Neither is the 150MLX, which is expensive, as well. How do you think it compares with the V15 (Whatever one you currently have--can't remember what you told me)

Apparently so.

Can't do a direct comparison as my brother has my V15VxMR (the last iteration - did you tell me there was no x in there?) and refuses to give it back. I tried to steal it from him while I was there over Xmas, but he caught me. Also, until I can get some additional run-time, it won't be a fair comparison as the highs and lows are still pretty thin on the AT150Ti. Couple of dozen more LPs and it should be coming into its own.

YES,

I am trying to find an AT150ti but have not been able to. Where can I get this Cartridge? I am in the USA on the West Coast...

I know its only been a few more days since your last post but hows the cartridge behaving for you? I've got a gift certificate at amazon burning a hole in my pocket and i've been thinking about picking up the AT150MLX there.

I think it is very nice. Right up there with the V15VxMR. Just a bit more tipped up at the top end, but I have less than 100 hours on it and it has continued to settle down. I have also found that it really does prefer the PS-8750 it is shown above. I've tried it in the PS-X70 and it doesn't sound as nice. Very different TT/TA combination, so not too surprising. I'll probably run the MCs in the more massive arms of the YP-D10/PS-X70 and the MMs in the PS-8750. A big plus is that one can purchase an original replacement stylus when the time comes. I think you'll be happy.
