Audio Technica Pro14S ??

I picked up a beautiful Hitachi HT-550 tuntable last night that came with a Audio Technica Pro14S cartridge. I'm trying to get the table dialed in but can find absolutely no information about this cart. The only google hit I get is a replacement stylus at lp gear for 99.95. Anyone have any info / thoughts about this cart? Is it a decent cartridge? Any suggestions for tracking force?

Thanks,
-Mark

It is a rebadge of the AT14S; you should get more hits searching for that model number. I'm not sure of the tracking force.

Yes, this is a decent/great cart and I believe the poster above is correct that it is actually a AT14S.I have one in my stable and it is superb.Worthy of $99 for a new needle.Tracks at 1.5 grams is optimal.

Thanks guys. Much more info about the AT14S. The Hitachi is beautiful. It still has the protective plastic on the top of the dust cover. I'll post some pictures soon. Thanks again for the info.

Yes, if that's a picture of the actual stylus, then it's the right one for the AT14s. I have an AT14s. Original stylus color is magenta and will have "Audio Technica" printed on it. Really nice cartridge. I'm a little surprised at the price considering the dealer. Seems like a bargain.

Thanks guys. When i thought i'd have to spend nearly 100.00 to get a replacement shibata stylus i was considering replacing the whole cartridge with either a shure m97xe or a denon dl-110 but if i can get the real deal replacement stylus for the at14s for 41.95 i'm beginning to reconsider. Anyone have any opinions about whether I should replace the cartridge or just the stylus? The setup is:

Turntable: Hitachi HT-550
Receiver: Sansui 890 (Euro 8080)
Speakers: Kef 105.4

I can't speak for the Denon, but I would buy the stylus for the AT before buying the Shure. At that price you could try the AT14s and if you don't like it you could probably sell it for the price you paid for the stylus. It's a good cartridge, I think you'll like it. If you wanted to try a Denon I would probably try the DL160, it seems to be well liked around here.

That seller you posted the link to is one of the best sellers of stylus on ebay. I've bought several styluses from him and have ALWAYS been very very satisfied.
Get the stylus before some one else does.

Thanks for the advice guys. When i posted yesterday their were two available. This morning, only one, so I bought it. Free shipping!!
