Audio Technica

Hi all, Does anyone recognize this cart? This turntable was given to me. It looks like I would have to remove the cart from the shell to see the model number. Since it's time consuming to do I was hoping someone would recognize it. It would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you. Bob

It would literally take you less than 30 seconds to remove headshell screws in order to see the model number. You could then screw it back and re-align it in about a minute.

Bob: Most likely one of the many "renames" of the AT13E. Could also be the body of one of the many renames of the AT14S, though, combined with an original ATS13 or 3rd party replacement thereof.

Manfred, Thank you very much!

Bob: You're welcome. Oh, and btw, if you have a little mirror at hand, you can easily check the underside of the needle. An original ATS13 would show either just an Audio Technica logo or the logo plus an "audio-technica" inscription beneath.

Model # might not help that much. My ats13e is at5011e or something. Take the stylus off and check vmaudioenthusiests they have pictures of most at stylus, drawings really. I googled my model and the stylus came up but other times zilch. Color is relevant too. ATs are almost as bad as Shures.

Manfred and Oldman54, Greatly appreciated! Thank you. I'll take a look under with a mirror and see what I can find. I did find AT-13e's on vinyl engine. A couple looked like they could be mine and a couple others did not. I'm trying to avoid removing it from the shell since my old eyes make it difficult to get it perfectly aligned, but will if I have to.

This is actually a pretty good sounding cart. I'm comparing it to another table, Technics SL-3300, with an Empire 2000T. My sister-in-law gave this table to me, Technics SL-B5. I expected the stylus to be worn out but it sure doesn't sound like it. The table did need a belt but other than that everything's fine with it.

I'll let you guys know what I find.

Bob: Yup, whichever AT13E rename exactly it is, the body is pretty good. And the ATS13 needle ranks quite a good bit above entry-level, sporting a nude diamond with recangluar shank and sharp, true elliptical tip on tapered, anodised alu cantilever.

Hi Manfred, Oldman54, and others, I finally felt like I could remove the cart from the shell to see the exact model number. It's an AT-13-E2. These little screws etc are not easy for me so I have to have a day where I have steady hands. Can't elaborate more but not easy for me.

I've compared this AT13E2 to my Empire 2000T and I like the AT better! I did not expect that. It seems to have better bass and overall better detail, if that makes any sense. I can't think of a better way to describe it. Thank you for your help Manfred.
