Audioengine W3 vs Wiim devices

I have a vintage receiver wired to a pair of floor standers and a sub for the mains. I want to add a set of powered remote speakers and make them wireless (WiFi not Bluetooth).
I’d like to play mains and remotes at the same time.
So I basically need a transmitting device attached to the receiver’s outs, and a receiving device attached to the powered remote speakers.

I have a hard time deciding between either adding a Wiim (Pro Plus?) to my old receiver’s out and another Wiim (Mini?) to the powered remote speakers, or getting a set of Audioengine W3 adapters instead.

I do have a Pro Plus that’s currently used as a streamer/DAC and I’m pretty happy with the device and Wiim’s support. Unfortunately it doesn’t allow for using more than one output at the time, so I can’t use its analog out (DAC) and at the same time its digital out (ADC). So adding more Wiims would be a natural choice. But since it’s just for the above mentioned purpose, the AE dongles’ small footprint is very intriguing also.

I know there are other brands/products out there, but not all allow for WiFi, not all have a good ADC or allow for latency adjustments and such.

What are the major differences between a set of AE W3 dongles vs a pair of Wiims (when used as stated above)?
Does, by any chance, anyone even have experiences with both?

I should mention that:
I currently mainly listen to TT and CD and radio, and I stream Spotify (and I may consider streaming Tidal in the future).
Footprint, ease of use, compatibility and scalability, and sound quality are all important to me.
I don’t have the powered remotes yet. That is still an open game. Compact shelfs. Cutrently LSX, LS50, Edifier, Vanatoo, Kanto, Klipsch, Tannoy, Adam, Kali, EVO, Q Acoustics, Genelec… are still possible contenders.

I have the equivalent of W3. I go from TapeRec(out) to AUX (in). From living room to bedroom. You need an amp on both ends. So 2 receivers I use integrated amps.

It has worked well for many years. In the sending end you need a music source. I have a laptop with ripped files and a DAC.

I do not have Wiim. I assume that could be your music source.

I had the opportunity to get a used W3. I’ll see how that goes. But first I need to get powered speakers. Trying to decide if KEF LSX or LS50 is worth the price.
