Audire amp popping noise.

Hello. I have an older Audire model 2 amp that often makes a popping noise on start up and shutdown. There is no power switch on the amp so we can rule out a power switch problem. There are 3 small leds on the front of the amp, 2 red and one green. The green stays lit for at least a minute on shutdown. The reds only light up if the amp is being driven hard which seldom if ever occurs. It almost seems like the caps are discharging, Your thoughts?

Can't find a schematic anywhere, or even a clear photo with the cover off, so it's hard for me to say if there's speaker relays or not. Judging by the few Audire amps I can find nude shots of, it doesn't appear any have them though.

I've found that most amps without power switches don't have relays either so it's a good bet.

If it has always done this, it is probably normal. A lot of amps with no protection relay will act like this. Some have an electronic protection with no relay. Some H / K stuff works like this.

The green LED still lit at power off is just showing the main power filter capacitors draining. This is normal for your amp. I have a Spectro Acoustics power amplifier in which the LED will stay lit for 30 minutes after shutdown. That just goes to show how healthy the capacitors really are.

if just one pop be sure source is turned down first or select a source that isnt playing . thats if you have a source selector .
if multiple pops then it needs looking at for sure .

Hi. It's just the one pop. This is with the sources powered up but volume turned all the way down on the pre amp and no source running.
