My son turned me onto these headphones - he seems to have a good nose for bargains. Obviously come from China via Amazon.. I wanted something to listen to late night action TV films that seem to have quiet speech mixed with explosions at three times the volume, without waking everybody up.
They sound pretty OK. Speech is clear and explosions are loud with plenty of low frequency.
I am a bit of a cynic when it comes to headphones - I have some hardwearing Audio Technica for my studio because they sound clear, comfortable and have long, hard wearing cable with proper jack plug
My son uses reasonably expensive Sennheisser mainly because he does DJ work and needs a pair that can go loud enough to get over the tracks that are playing.
A pair of Sony headphones that dont get used because they are big, heavy and my ears get hot
Small Sony headphones that sound fine and tend to get used with my laptop and/or phone
Koss headphones - ok but tend not to get used unless someone else is in the studio and needs a pair
To my ears they all sound good and the Sennheissers are probably the best allround - but the difference in sound quality is subjective and I cant really say that the variation in price is reflected in the sound quality
The August headphones use Bluetooth 4.1 - so decent battery life
They have a 3.5mm socket so you can also use them as wired with the supplied cable
They are rechargeable - standard USB connector as per android phones.
Include controls on the headset - Volume, start stop, next track
They are comfortable
Battery has never run out in the middle of a show - I charge it after I have used it for about 6 hours - which would be about three nights for me - but its not flashing at that point to say it needs charging.
They connected/paired with my Samsung TV without any fuss When I turn them on a message comes on the screen "do you want to connect with EP650" I click ok and the sound goes off from my home theatre system and connect to the headphones. When I am finished, turn them off and the TV sound comes back on through the home theatre.
They also connect to the TV in my bedroom but that didnt have bluetooth built in so I had to get a bluetooth transmitter. August do a dual channel model with TOS optical input as well as 3.55mm mini jack . Quite expensive but works very well
I have had them for about a year and so far the only problem has been that the covering on one of the phones sometimes comes away from the edge - easily put back in place.
The price? I paid £35. The price has risen in the UK no doubt caused by the drop in the value of the £ but still great value.
