AVR Receiver wattage, why so weak these days and only 2 channels driven instead of each channel?

It's just that a new year separates each version. New year and a few new features. Hardware wise, the 3030 was top, of any of these, but no Atmos. But, that was no big deal to me. Though, I do enjoy it's ESS Sabre DACs. Very nice.

It's true.You are right .I have the 3040 and it is the twin of 3030 more the Atmos .On the contrary, the 3030 has a remote control with backlight and display that I had to buy separately :-)
 
Thanks for the tip Bill. If my 3030 ever dies, I'll have to try a video convertor. Though, hopefully I won't need it for security purposes. If I hear a noise outside, it's usually a deer or a possum. But, come to think of it, those possum's can be tough too. :eek: I bet I could throw a possum at a guy with a gun, and the possum would win. Or the guy would run. Same difference. I wonder if I need a carry permit for the possum? :cool:
 
Would "upgrading" the power supply help?Or is something built in that limits the power taken from the PSU.
To me,it seems all the channels have the same amplifier(looking at my Denon AVR X1300).So,in theory,with a bigger PSU,all the "amplifiers" should have the power they want.
This is the first HT receiver I bought,and I was dissapointed coming from a 2 channel set-up.
