Hi everyone,
I just purchased a wonderful Marantz UD7007, which is connected to my Marantz SR5011.
I have read and know of all the settings for playing redbook CDs (which is what most of my music collection is made of - about 700 discs). To put it short, I have the UD7007 connected to the SR5011 via an Argon stereo RCA cable (of the 100-or-so dollar variety). My fronts are Infinity Reference 60s (the made-in-USA ones, with the EMIT-R tweeters, which I love). While listening to CDs, both the UD7007 and the SR5011 are in Pure Direct mode (Pure Direct Mode 1 for the UD7007 - turns off all but the analog circuitry).
My Infinity Reference 60s are bi-amped via the Marantz SR5011 with Klotz cables.
While I am perfectly satisfied so far with the analog stereo sound of the UD7007, I was thinking about going next-level with the system, and my question would be, plain and simple:
Should I upgrade my speakers next, or should I add a power amp (such as the Marantz MM7025 or the Emotiva BasX A-300) to my system? The Marantz amp would have balanced inputs, which the UD7007 would somewhat benefit from afaik, but sadly I cannot test any of the said amps on my systems beforehand.
If speaker upgrade is the way to go, toward which models should I think about going?
Thanks in advance!
PS: the listening room is about 4.5m x 4m, or 14ft x 12ft approximately in surface.
