Aztec Speakers

I found a set of Aztec speakers in the thrift store this morning.
Really nice cabs but look to be pretty ho-hum for drivers.
So cheap, I had to pick them up, all the dirvers seem to work.

Anyway, doing a little web research, google showed me a "old timey aztec speaker" hit. This isn't what I was looking for though.

HaHa,I did the search got the same results...

Seems like I read on a different forum,that these were built in Colorado... And some kind of house brand.:dunno:
 
There have been a bunch of threads on Aztecs here -- the Gaugin and Matisse models pop into my memory, but there were a bunch of other artist's names and other odd names (or maybe they are artists I have never heard of).

I read some history on them.
Pretty sure these are the MOTL to BOTL.

You know, I've been so involved this week that I haven't even looked to see if they have a name on them. Brought them home, wiped the dirt off and hooked them to a Curtis Mathis tube receiver I got going and let them run while I did some trouble shooting on a new-to-me Marantz 2385.

They don't sound bad, maybe its the tubes.
