B&K EX-442 Sonata Power Amplifier - Power Switch

It took some time to identify and locate a replacement switch for this amplifier. I hope I can spare the trouble for someone else.

This amp requires an illuminated 16A 125V-AC panel mount rocker switch and I tried the usual vendors, Digikey, Mouser, Parts Express, even fleabay. My best option was a local supplier [which also ships], Electronics Supply Co. in Kansas City, MO. I am really fortunate to have this place nearby. The switch that the counterman found for me is their Item Number 35-689-BU which sold for $4.24 + tax. It works and fits and looks right and lights up a nice bright red. Mighty fine Christmas lighting for my music room.

Went online to Electronics Supply Co. in Kansas City, MO to order 35-689-BU but they had limited shipping options (too expensive $17 cheapest option). Sent them a note to see if they could ship two rocker switches for my B&K M200 mono blocks via first class mail. They responded that day and made the change. Great customer service. Cross your fingers they fit properly like they did for recycler27 on his B&K EX-442 amps.:thumbsup:

Hi, I just bought two of these switches for my 200M Mono blocks. The plug sequence is different than the original ones. Do you know the right sequence? I am so afraid that i will blow the amps out trying to guess.
 
I had the same problem last year when installing a new switch .....
Finally figured it out by trial and error .....
You won't blow the amp if wrong sequence- you'll just trip the power outlets circuit breaker ....
Keep trying till u get it right .....

Thanks so much for your response. I did figure it out,but my amplifiers sound different, now they have more bass and less highs, but the image is bigger. I bought these amps on eBay a bout a year and a half ago, when they came,they had two different power switches, I opened the amps up and one had different caps than the other, so they definitely were not twins. Nevertheless they did sound really good but now since I changed the switches they just sound like the bass is very pronounced. did you experience this at all, did you hear any change in the sound of your amps when you changed the switches. Do you think that the switch’s need burn in time?
