B&K ST-2140 RMS Output per channel ? Help Quick

I have been wearing out the internet trying to get a solid answer to that question. I keep seeing 70 per side and 140 per side.

There are a couple ST-2140 on the Bay ending very soon and I could pull the trigger if indeed the output is 140 watts per channel.

I am currently driving stacked Large Advents with a Yamaha M-60 power amp and a B&K PRO 10 MC preamp and want to try the "Tube Like" character of the B&K..

Any thoughts? Would love to have a B&K 442 sonata but it is a jump of maybe $200 over the ST-2140.

Thanks for the reply. I got the manual off hifiengine before my post and it added to the confusion. On the specs page it shows 140 watts at 1HZ in to 8 ohms with no mention of both channels driven or per channel. A number of ST-1240 amps are listed as 70 watts per channel by the sellers. I have read a number of reviews on the unit and output is not quoted. The older model ST-140 was 70 per side and I do not know if the 1240 is just a later variation of the 140.

generally its just one channel rms .. i agree the manual doesn't say much .
consumption is 450w max . ab isnt that efficient plus it says high current output . i dont think 280w total output would be far off .

Bluebook lists it as having 140 wpc. I had one and would agree with that number.

Thanks for the post reply's. I am Leary about eBay Vintage Electronics buys in general. But we all take our chances on the old stuff. A local shop had an ST-202 available with one channel out, hoping it was an internal fuse we opened it up and the one side had all 4 final mosfets smoked. No telling the damage to the PCB components. Repair costs could exceed the value of the unit.

I think I will sell some of the collection and build a kitty for an EX442 sonata. 12 turntables is a bit much.

Looks like somewhere around 140wpc. Realize that the difference between 120 and 160wpc is insignificant from a performance standpoint. I would even put it up against the EX442 under most listening conditions.

I have a B&K amp. Rated @105w per ch 20-20 rms. The "new improved" model was rated 125 per @ 1khz. Same exact internals...marketing departments...sheesh.
