B & O Beogram 8000 question

the keester

I dig music.
For all you B & O experts out there:

If I get the Beomaster 6000 or (8000) and connect it to a Beogram 8000 TT is it possible to control the Beogram 8000 with a wireless remote?

Is there any way to control the Beogram 8000 with a wireless remote?

thanks

There is a thread here somewhere about someone wiring a generic (non-B & O) remote interface on a 4002 or 4004. Can't remember who.

When the Beomaster and Beogram are connected with the Beolink cable (a short two conductor cable with male 1/8 inch mono "headphone" jacks on both ends) The remote will "start" the Beogram "remotely" but that is the limits of it's "remote" features.

Actually, the Beosystem 8000 (otherwise known as the Beolab 8000 System) took the "Datalink" system further than the earlier control systems had. In the case of the Beosystem 8000, the control signals are sent along a pair of extra pins within the DIN cables connecting the components together. The Datalink system used in the Beosystem 6000/8000 is bidirectional: pressing Play on the Beogram 8000 will cause the Beomaster 8000 to switch it's input setting to Phono; similarly, selecting the Phono input on the Beomaster 8000 will cause the Beogram 8000 to start playing. As far as remote control functions go, most of the sources I've seen say that the Beolab Terminal can start and stop the Beogram 8000, but as far as other functions go, I'm not sure. The Beogram 8000 can't be remote-controlled on it's own without being connected to a Beomaster 8000.

Thank you for clarifying, as my experience was indeed with an earlier model, the 5500.
