B&O Beovox 3702 Woofer Advice Needed

Stockman

My sister used these speakers for over 25 years and I just got them back. Unfortunately, a "friend" "repaired" the woofers with some RadioShack 40-1044 units and the sound is no longer quite right... Does anyone have specs on the woofer or suggested replacements? There are some B&O woofers out there but I'm not sure what will work. The cabinets and other speakers are in excellent condition and I remember them sounding wonderful, so I hate to give up on them. Thanks.

@Stockman - did you ever get anywhere with this?

I've just re-foamed one of the woofers, which has come out good but its Fs is now 72Hz which seems high - I suspect I need different foam (fortunately I have spare drivers).

These drivers are marked 4-ohm and are 8" paper cone woofers with foam surround, 1¼" voice coil on an aluminum former and paper dust caps. The woofer cone has eight vent holes under the dust cap and the pole piece is drilled but not vented at the back.

They look to be some variation of Peerless P825W and have AlNiCo magnets (which measures just 40mm diameter and 30mm height, and is strapped in a U-shaped steel brace).

Pending foam issues the only measurement I currently have is Re at 3.4 ohms,. They are completely un-marked except for "4 Ω" written in white on back of cone between tinsel leads.

As AlNiCo speakers, replacing them with the Radio Shack unit will definitely alter the sound, a lot.

I got nowhere with them. I wound up giving them, plus 4 additional unmatched 8" woofers to a B&O enthusiast. Months ago. Have heard no glowing success stories!
