B&O H6 Headphone advice?

Our sixteen year old son wants B&O H6 headphones for Christmas. Surely the B&O headphones are great, but we fell for his Beats by Dre pleas several years ago and he ended up agreeing with our assertions they are glitz and little substance for the price. Fearing this is a repeat of same scenario. Does anyone have experience with the H6, or advice on better price/quality options?
