B&W 801 Series 80

B&W experts, need some advice. I'm curious what would be a fair price for a pair of near mint 801 series 80 speakers in the used market. Thanks!

I answered in the other thread (it may get moved here to D&S) $600 - 1200 is my guestimate - they are pre matrix (extra heavy duty bracing) - greater value if they have stands.....

What finish? Have they been recapped? Stands? Protection circuitry bypassed? Is the horrible blocking cap still in place? Connectors replaced?

$800 to a high of $1,400 if they're mint and upgraded.

The ones I see on the market are pretty overpriced. Especially the 801 Matrix Series III which was the worst made version. $1200 in absolutely mint condition, no damage, all drivers original, all associated parts intact.

The series 80 are an i absolutely fabulous speaker, my favorite affordable vintage speaker.

These are in the Rosewood finish and are completely stock. No work has ever been done to them besides low playing hours, as stated by the owner.

The seller is asking $3k...

What happens is the sellers searches for B&W 801 and up comes the nautilus 801 with a price of 11k retail or the 801 matrix III (5.5k) - it skews there prercetion of what to list the speakers for - do A little research and tell them what they sold for and what they are going/sold for....
