Hi folks,
I lucked into a beautiful pair of 802 series 80 from a generous friend who was upgrading his system, and I stupidly let them sit in the garage for a few years. I finally got them set up and was blown away by the sound, even hooked up to a post-high school technics SA-103 receiver, and cables made from low voltage lighting gardening cable! So even tho it was no longer color coordinated, (my main setup is all black B&W/rotel/target shelf), I swapped out my B&W 803 series II and banished them to my second tier system.
So my short question is, were my inexperienced ears right?
Are B&W (series 80) really better speakers than B&W 802 (series 2) ?
or is it really down to nuances based on personal preference? The individual instruments sounded more separate and clearer to me.
