b&w 802d power issue

I have a pair of B&W 802D driven by a pair of MC501 monos. Recently I got an integrated 211 tube SET amp which only generates about 12w class A power per chanel. I hooked it up to the 802D, and it drives the speaker pretty well with such little power. The recommended amp power for 802D is 50-500w as per B&W. Does anyone know whether the little power from my 211 tube SET amp could potentially damage the speakers? Asking this due to a friend told me so. Please comment with your opinion. Thanks!

No, as long as your getting the volume you are satisfied with your fine. Tube amps have a "soft clip" and in my experience with them have never hurt a driver running them into clipping. I usually turn them up until the music starts to break up and then back the volume knob down until it gets clean and then leave it! If your tube amp has an impedance selection on the speaker terminals just make sure your using the right one.:thmbsp:
 
Thanks for your reply. Yes, my tube amp has both 8 and 4 ohm output terminals, and I use the 8ohm nominal impedence to match the 802d speakers.
