B&W 804 80 Series vs B&W 804 S3 which is a better choice?

I found a pair of B&W 804 80 Series that a seller would let go for $900 and a pair of B&W 804 Matrix S3 for $1800. I was first wondering if these were decent prices for the speakers and I cannot find much information about them online about the differences between them. Some places are saying that they are the same thing but the photos say otherwise near the mounting points of the speakers. does anyone have any information about them? such as what year, specs, and differences?

There is a pair of 802 Series 3 on eBay for $2200. Since the 802 is two steps above the 804 and eBay is typically top of the market prices, $1800 for 804's seems like a premium price. Just a guess though.

^^^^ Agree. 802 S2s and S3s can be found for less than 2K, but you might have to work a bit to find them. They are big and relatively heavy which is a consideration. Matrix trumps 80 series, IMO.
