B&w 804s

Ok ok ok...

I just bought a pair of B&W 804S speakers for my living room. But. I have a problem.

In my bedroom I use a Rega system (Mira3 integrated, Apollo cdp, P3 turntable, and R1 bookshelf speakers) - everything's Rega, and it sounds great. I recently switched the R1's out with some old B&W CDM1NT's, and it sounds considerably less impressive. The R1's come back soon.

That having been said: I have nothing to drive the B&W 804S speakers at the moment and therefore need to look into getting an amp. I like Rega equipment, and was considering the Exon monoblocs they produce, but having heard the Mira3 with the older B&Ws I'm a little off-put about getting Rega equipment to drive teh B&Ws. So, desperately I turn to you - any ideas?

I listen to classic rock, jazz, and some loud music requiring super-accurate bass response.

Help.
Please.

I have an all Rega main system and have tried my Mira 3with other speakers with less than impressive results. I would enjoy the all Rega system and understand that it has a unique synergy and look elsewhere for an amp for your B&W's.

B&W's need a lot of current to make them sing, I would look at Bryston or one of the big Sim amps. There are a lot of amps that will work with the B&W's, biggest qualification is that it needs to bring the juice.

Mcintosh, Bryston, Classe, one of the bigger rotels, parasound...

all of the above should work good with your B&W's :)

Keep them spinning,
Bert.
