B&W Matrix 805 - Best Amp and TT pairings?

I’m putting together a new system for the living room of my new place. The system will be primarily used for listening to vinyl records, though I’ll also look to tie into my TV and include a Bluetooth input for digital music. The room is not huge - a rectangle that’s roughly 30’ x 20’ with the speakers to be centered in the middle of one of the long walls.

I’m building around a pair of B&W Matrix 805 speakers. Looking for advice on how to think about what Amp and TT might be best to complete the system.

Am interested in vintage as well as new equipment. In particular, have been looking at the AT LP5 and Riga Planar 1 TTs.

Don’t want to spend more than $1500 for the rest of the system.

What do people think? What should I be thinking about? Will I be better with solid state or tube? Anything really shine with these speakers?

Appreciate any advice!

These speaker deserve at least, the best 100 watt budget audiophile amp you can afford, Forte, B&K, Hafler all come to mind. The impedance does drop below 4 ohms. Same with the phono section of your chosen preamp.

You still might find them bass shy and want to add a sub in that size room.

We used to use the AT cartridges from AT Signet division with excellent results when these speaker were new. I have found their new $180 to $350 in the same class as their offerings back then in the 120 to 200 range....inflation suks.

You thinking solid state or tubes? I used to give them lots of solid state watts in home theatre, but I also listened to them through a Fisher with about 30 WPC tube power, and they sounded sweet with that as well.
