BA A60 Series 2 Refoam - worth it?

Picked up these Boston Acoustic A60 Series II speakers today. Just $11, but obviously need a refoam.

Is it worth the effort? eBay says they aren't worth much, but does anyone have some in good condition to tell me how they sound? The cabinets look great to me...

Also -anyone know a source for a refoam kit?

Send me a private message and I'll tell you where you can buy perfect fitting foams for $5 each.

They are worth fixing, its a 1 hour job with those drivers.

Ebay vintage electronics for surrounds to start your search. Look like they would have a decent sound much like a small pair of Advent model 9's i have. Be a good starter kit to practice intsalling new surround at that price. At the end maybe 40.00 bucks total investment, good luck if you go for it! Yes, worth refoaming. There are places you can get foams for $1 to $5 per foam, much cheaper then the eBay sellers.

Ebay is a terrible place to estimate prices for lower value items that cost a lot to ship. They should be worth $50 to $100 locally depending on their condition.

+1. My local record store has them mounted on the wall (4) they sound really great.
Fix them and enjoy. I have a pair of BA 40 in my garage and they sound really good fro thir size. BA = great speakers (at least the vintage).

Another yes to worth refoaming. That model was my first refoam. They do sound nice and are very easy to do

If it were the cone version, I'd do it.

Being the dome version, I'd do it- twice.

A very pleasant speaker and a capable performer.

Good to know they're relatively easy - for my first refoam job...

thedelihaus - are there two different versions of this speaker ? Cone vs. dome? What's the difference?

One uses a cone tweeter. The other, a dome tweeter.
