BA-F1 / CA-F1 compared to AU-717

Finally got my BA-F1/CA-F1 combo running last night and I was surprised how different it sounded to my AU-717. The BA-F1 combo sounded quite a bit warmer and a very pleasing to the ear sound field compared to the AU-717. The AU-717 had sharper clearer sound and is actually louder at the lower volumes but the overall feel isn't as good as the BA-F1 combo. I was running the BA-F1 with the AU-717 as the pre amp whilst I was waiting for the CA-F1 to arrive and prefer the AU-717 running as integrated rather than a pre amp better. Don't get me wrong the AU-717 still sounds fantastic as a stand alone unit and I won't be parting with it but didn't expect such a difference in sound between the two.Anyone else done similar comparisons.

I thinks its generally accepted each Sansui Model and variations within it have their particular sound, hence which is the top sounding model debate.

I've compared the BA/CA-F1 to a restored AU-717 and AU-719 and found the BA/CA combo to offer greater clarity, resolution and finesse along with noticeably tighter and deeper bass response than either of the other two amps.

There's certainly a difference in the sound between the earlier 717 and the later diamond-differential circuit 719 and BA/CA combo. The later amps are cleaner and more resolving.

I have never seen either of those, live or in photos. If possible, would you please post a pic or two. Glad you have them performing. Hope you enjoy.
