BA312 Distortion Fix

I replace every BA312 I see now.

Crazy how much lower the noise floor gets.
I know the Sparkos modules lowered the noise floor a good 10dB. The more direct conversions now available use the KSC1845 (maybe KSA992?) so I'm sure you're quite right. I've used these once but forgot to do a "before" measurement to note the improvement. I think your advice of replace on sight is a good plan.

I think I'm leaning towards replacement as well. I recently did the resistor swap and now I'm hearing some distortion from my right channel. I'll poke around to make sure but I think I'm just going to replace with the through hole version from FleaBay. I'll get to that this weekend and report back.

Hello
I am in the process of fixing a 2250B receiver - original PE01, no BA313 there.
With 0.4 V square wave input to PE01 I get on about 40 mV output !!!!
Thera have been other problems elsewhere, all boards were restored with a kit, including PE01 (capacitors, transistors, diodes).
What could be the problem, how to check it. Is there a way to totally bypass PE01 ? What is its voltage output normally ?
Thanks !

Sweeet! Keep us updated
I tried the OPs resistor mod, but it didn't help with the distortion I was getting from BA312s in my Marantz 2275. I did the Sparkos mod/upgrade kit and wow - much less floor noise and no more distortion. A great alternative for those who may have tried the mod but didn't have any luck. I may have to get set for my Sansui next! No affiliation.

Soon the variant of BA312 using OPA1641 or 1642 should be availabe. ( we have 2 versions for flat amp and 1 version for Phono at least Sansui 9090db phono). testing is in progress
