Just listening to the Maceo Parker "Back To Funk" 2-CD set. What a truly funky outing this is, and live, too. Are there any other fans of this amazing recording out there? The world needs more funk of this quality. Special mention must be made of the killer (German) WDR Big Band backing Maceo up on this one. Wow.

Maceo is a big shiny god of sax. That album is great for sure.

I don't have the "Back To Funk" album but I do have other albums. I also love his work with James Brown and Parliament as well as Prince.

He's a bad bad man on the sax, that's for sure.

I don't have that one either, but my radar will certainly be on point for it. Yea, Maceo's style is great to say the least.

His solo on "Funky Drummer" is outstanding.

I saw him last Friday at Yoshi's in San Francisco. The performance and music was awesome!
