I just ordered the newer auto technica at-vm740ml cart hoping it’s a good choice. The reviews sound really good. I think it will replace the 100e on the sl-1900

Just found this post. Glad to see it as I've just picked up a 1900 with three missing feet. @EK517 so are you saying the cones just nestle where the feet used to screw into the base ?

Mine also has a cracked lid, a broken tonearm clip and who knows what else! Just as well it was cheap.

When I replaced my feet, I bought a set of 4 on Ebay for $20.00 total. They came off another Technics model...not a 1900. By looking at the photos and asking questions regarding the feet, I determined they were essentially the same. They fit perfectly.

Poking around the Turntable side of the forum in search of input for the new SL-1200GR and SL-1500C, I came across the thread. I am currently running an SL-1900 that I purchased new in the box back in 1977! With the exception of the cueing damper loosing it's mojo, it has proven to be a very solid table. It has all four feet, an intact dust cover, and mat. I think somewhere in my journey with it over the last 42 years I have lost the 45RPM adapter. That table has served me well over the years. College, old girl friends, marriage, jobs won, jobs lost, kids entering school and graduating college. The beat goes on.......... Do I need a new table? No. Do I want the new SL-1200GR or SL-1500C? YES? Drop dead gorgeous IMO. I doubt I would be able to part with the SL-1900 and would probably keep it set up next to any new purchase. Like a little tangible part of my past.

Funny how we get attached to things.
