baldwin output transformers and one dark mind

good day to all,

i am sure i am not the only one with thoughts of using baldwin iron in builds.
i have looked for baldwin iron number and do not know where to look for specs.
baldwin 46h 3 channel amp, uses 2 x 512 023628 outputs with 6bq5 pp tubes
another baldwin (model unknown) uses 1 x 512 23628 output with 6l6 pp tubes, minus the 0...
just because the numbers are close does this have anything to do with them being from the same family,
other than just the same names
does anyone know where to look for baldwin transformer specs
info will be appreciated
thanks

The primary impedance requirements for 6BQ5 and 6L6 tubes are slightly different, 8k versus 10k respectively, I think. But I think this is affected by the impedance of the secondary. Sorry not to be clearer.

It's not too difficult to check the impedance for yourself. See here https://www.radioremembered.org/outimp.htm for an intro.

right, its a ratio thing. A 10K primary with an 8 ohm secondary becomes a 5K primary if you use a 4 ohm load on it. 6L6 plate to plate impedance is all over the map depending on operating conditions. Most datasheets have info for about a 6.5k primary, but many amps exist at 5-10k. 6bq5 is typically around 8k.

You'd have to ring out the impedance at a minimum but push-pull 6bq5 amps top out around 15 watts, 6L6 is typically in the 25w range. Transformers tend to be more massive for more power, usually different enough to be visually obvious.

I have a 512 023628c Baldwin output transformer and the primary impedance has been measured at 6,343 ohms with an 8 ohm speaker secondary.
