Hey, thanks for the response and new to the group so sorry for posting in the wrong forum..
Came with a pair of AR 2ax matching speakers. Hate to part it out so I think I will restore the components

That is some nice gear, cabinets and all. The Dynaco equipment was kit/factory assembled and a low cost way to high quality sound, a hallmark of David Hafler's gear through the years whether it be Dynaco or Hafler companies.
Getting the electronics rebuilt would provide some nice sound there are many here with Stereo 70 amps and the PAS tube preamps are better sounding than the later PAT-4 transistorized unit.
Can't get cabinets like those today without spending lots of money. Depending on what you want, you could just put it all back in service like it was and enjoy it.

That is an amazing piece of furniture and gear you've acquired. The console looks immaculate and the Dynaco tube gear is legendary stuff, just search the tube audio forum for them and you could get lost for days. Coupled with the AR speakers it's a mid 60's dream system for many, many people. You certainly should have the electronics inspected brought into proper operating condition. One question, was there a turntable in the right hand top compartment?

And that's coming from a solid state kinda guy.
Even us SS guys know & respect those Dynaco tube components.
And throw in those AR speakers,what's not to love 'bout that set-up.

No way I'd part that out,waaayyy too nice,super clean classic styling w/o looking dated @ all,and some great components inside to boot.

You're in luck on many ways.
First, the find.
Next, the ST 70 is the most mass produced power amp ever (for good reason)
You can source every part today (new).
There are tons of threads and info on repair and restore. You can open a thread in tube audio and have a bunch of sharp folks walk you through your restore.
There is a Base Line ST 70 thread that I think will prove most helpful.
I can just about echo what i said about the amp , about the PAS3 pre.
Audio Regenesis, has some useful info regarding it.
The ARs likely need a little TLC.
You can open a thread in the speaker forum.
Take your time. Ask questions.
I'd suggest you get them functioning right and live with it for a while.
That should sound very good.
My point is, these pieces have created a giant after market of "upgrades, and mods". If you read a bit, there's some debate over whether the supposed upgrades, are.
There's a reason why these were so sucessful. Enjoy your new pieces and the journey!

If you have any interest in classic audio, these are keepers. Every component in that cabinet, and the speakers, was on every audio lover's wish list. To come across them in one purchase really is Audio Nirvana. Congratulations on one of the hauls of the decade!

I've rebuilt/recapped two ST-70s I currently have one that was done with Orange Drops. I also have a Bob Latino VTA ST-70... I'll PM you with a Colorado HOWDY !
