Baton Rouge Dynaco A-25

Although I have not heard that model of speaker, I can see by the pictures they do indeed look nice and appear to be in good condition. I'll bet you might be able to get the seller to come down a bit from his asking price of $100. :thmbsp:

Do you think their price of $100 is too much?

A really good original pair is worth double that if you really like their sound.

I'd go $75 for a fully functional pair with non original grills.

They are very nice speakers especially for jazz.

+1, Eric has the value about right for average condition speakers. But in really nice condition, if the cabinets have been finished to a high degree, I'd probably go $90 but prepared to pay the $100. Hard to find Dynaco A25's, and usually the cabinets have not been cared for and dried out, stained, or worn.

It's all in the eye of the beholder. Personally I don't think his asking price is too much. How much enjoyment would you get from making them shine? Offer him less than the $100 and it looks like a pretty cheap price for that much fun. I spend more than that to take my family to the movies but it's your call in the end if it's worth it to you. :thmbsp:

Indeed! I got $300+ for a pair that I sold. I only did some mild refinishing and recapped them.

There was a pair of them here in Dallas a couple years ago for $100 that I passed on. They were really clean, but I just didn't need them. They can sell for between $100-$200, depending on condition... though non-original grills and other factors will affect the price a lot. I'd say $50-$75 is more than fair, assuming the drivers are OK.
