Baxandall diode modification in Sansui 7000

Hi sansui guys,
please could you help me??
I am proud owner of sansui 7000 and other units with QC design.
Based on Conrad Hoffman instructions ( sansui 2000X) I modified my sansui 3300 ( also QC) with baxandall diode with great result. Nice gentle sound
Then I tried do the same on my sansui 7000.
I used the BD in place of 10 ohm resistor with direction of the diode to emitor of driver PNP tran. I used 100 ohm and 1N4004. For sure I minimased current bias before turning on to adjust it. Double checked
everything and turn the unit. But a second after turn the unit on one channel burnt ! The PNP tran, and both NPN output trans on the channnel are out.
I do not know what could happen. Is it possible to modified also this drivers as 2000X , 3300 etc?? Or do I some mistake by direction or resistor value ?? For sure everything seemed to be OK as the unit ( with new caps ) played several months with nice sound. Do you have any experience with this BD mods beside the 2000X and au 555 units?
Thanks for your advice

I know. Based on that I have started to experiment with BD. Even I am in touch with Conrad to discuss. Generally the topology of sansui 7000 is the same as 2000X . In 3300 ( drivers similar to 2000X) it works perfect !!

@Radim123, Any solution to this? I'm in the same boat, my 2000A with Conrad's mods really impresses me.
I'm now thinking that the 5000 series receivers would benefit from the same.
I'll study my schematic and manual though would like to hear thoughts from the more experienced! ;)
