I bought a kinda working Pilot 654, that the owner says the rear cans sizzle...but all tube light up.

Me in sound mind and spirit will redo this Mofo. I have the sams photofact for it and I have a MM. as well as deoxit.

first thing I want to do though is just the large cans and solenoid, then come the K40's in there.

Jack,
Starting a new hobby? Bored with all that other cool gear you have? One more thing, before you start, make sure the soldering iron is plugged in and the amp is unplugged:yes:

You won't have any trouble Jack. Try to post up that schematic big enoug where we can see it. Then the first step is to get a good parts order together.

Sizzling cans... not good. Precursor to exploding cans. :)

Just remember. Never solder in the nude and always look when reaching for the soldering iron. Did you know that when grabbing the wrong end you can smell it before you feel it. :O
