Beatles experts, your advice please

Maybe in 2014, in honor of The Beatles 50th US anniversary. We'll see a Ltd. Edition Double 45 RPM set of The Beatles LPs, cut from the original analogue tapes or 24/192khz files. MSRP......$799.99!!

Not likely.....but if there's money to be made, anything's possible! More probable would be a hi-res download, USB or blu-ray audio at 24/192khz of their catalog. Apple/EMI still have a few tricks up their sleeves to continue to milk The Beatles catalog.

Indeed.

I think the should release the Esher Demos. Call it "Beatles Unplugged" or "Acoustic White Album.

The "Esher Demos" have been rumoured to be released for the last 10-15 years. Some good bootlegs are out there, but a legit release would be nice. Maybe they'll do some 45th anniversary "White Album" box set next year with them included.

Yea I have a pretty good bootleg of it. I think they should do what they did with the Love Songs and Rock & Roll Music compilations. Treat it as a new Beatles album and throw the full force of marketing and hype behind it.

Also a Hollywood Bowl and Rooftop concert combo might work.

How about a DVD/CD combo of the movie Let it Be/audio Rooftop Concert

A DVD/Blu-ray of "Let It Be" with added footage, is at the top of their want list for most Beatles fans. A CD of the original Glyn John's mix of LIB or Get Back as it was intended, would be a nice bonus!

Director Michael Lindsey Hogg, said in a recent interview, that a DVD of LIB was coming in 2013. I'll beleive it when I see it! There's a lot of Beatles video/film content that still needs a proper release. At least with the recent DVD/BR releases of YS and MMT, they got the ball rolling!

The problem with Let It Be is that with the exception of the Rooftop sequence, it is damn depressing. Vital for scholars and great Cineme Verite of a rock group deteriorating. It is fascinating, but not really entertaining.

Some of the bootleg video's of unreleased LIB footage, actually show the band in a more happier looser mood.....jamming some "oldies" for example. When Billy Preston came into the fold, they're attitude changed for the better during the filming.

The one scene between Paul and George bickering about "I'll play what ever you want me to play, or I won't play ar all" sometimes gives the impression that the entire session was horrid. Even the LIB film as released in 1970, had it's moments, with the rooftop being the highlight for sure. The footage for LIB, L&WR and Two Of Us are enjoyable.

With the almost 200 hours of LIB footage in the can, I'm sure not all of it is doom and gloom. But yes.....there was that element present at times during the filming and recording of LIB. What can you say....it's part of The Beatle's history. I still want to see as much as possible!

After so many years of hearing this music in it's various forms, the only thing that would get me excited would be hi rez releases. Other then that I get most of my Beatles fix from unreleased material and stuff like that, there are so many GREAT well put together boots of studio stuff it could keep any fan with plenty of material to go through.

Yea it had some brighter moments. Billy Preston's time is great, but he was brought in to ease the tensions. I guess it worked.

Don't get me wrong. I would grab a good copy on DVD in a heartbeat. I just have a hard time imagining Apple marketing it with any enthusiasm.

The irony was that of all of Paul's crazy ideas, it was, conceptually at least, a pretty good one.

In a perfect world, Apple would release these LPs for $11.99! They would sell ten times as many, make more money, and introduce more people to the catalog (and the world of vinyl).

$11.99 list for "all" new vinyl releases would make a lot of people happy! Never gonna happen, but a nice thought!

There are actually quite a few albums in that price range. SoundStageDirect has a lot and I have bought a few bundles from PopMarket that worked out to just over $10 a pop for 180gram remasters. Black Sabbath and AC/DC most recently. Also bought Abbey Road on Amazon not long ago for $11.99. It was the re-release, but still sounded amazing.

I think you will see more in the future.
