Ad astra
This simple bedroom system mostly plays news in the morning and music before bed:
ADS L710 speakers (on A&M Fabrication stands)
Dayton APA-150 power amp
Kenwood C2 preamp
McIntosh MR500 tuner
The 6-ohm ADS speakers play very nicely with the little Dayton amp: lively sound, plenty of volume, solid bottom end. I previously used that amp in another system with Phase Tech PC65 speakers, also acoustic suspension bookshelf speakers but of quite different design, and the Phase Techs seemed to demand a lot more of the amp. The current pairing works well.
I've sometimes had a turntable in this room, but it was so lightly used there that I simplified the system. We can plug in a phone or computer if we want to listen to something other than radio. Yes, FM is anachronistic at this point, but our local classical station can sound surprisingly engaging via that Mac tuner.
