Hi all,

Sorry to tell that it has been a while that i have been posting and reading here..
Been buzy...

Took the time to repair my good old Trio cs-1560A oscilloscope... It now is as flawless as I could make it...

Also worked on my SONY SQR 6650 receiver... Did a full recap with regular spec caps... It is the way SONY made it in the first place...and it sounds.....unbelievable good... no power shortage, and smooth.... in 4 channel Quadro mode... Man what an amp...

Sadly the right rear channel developed a problem with it's power amp... waiting on some replacement transistors... so no further action yet until they arrive...

Also worked on a other little beast.... My Trio KA 250-u Power amp..
Started with the big power cap.... Replaced the present cap what should have been 2200Uf bud was 1000Uf for a 10.000 Uf 50 volt cap...
This strangely resolved allot of Hiss (I know the difference between Hiss and Humm) in the Phono mode! Also provided some bigger low-end.

After that I refurbished the original 1000Uf output DC un-couple caps... Opend them up, clean the inside of those caps and placed a new cap in the old cap can using the bottem plate...hammered the edge back in place
So now It looks like the original ELNA caps are still in there...

This action gave left me with question marks.
Is there a special tool to more cleanly open up big caps?? and roll them back shut?

The repair opend the highs and mids, and did set a better stage...so I went through with the full recap and replaced them all
In any case.... The amp now runs a bit cooler and really is a little audio gem... has plenty power and is is so smooth....
This Amps could well be on it's way to become a altime favorite

Will post pictures later today... of all

The little Trio I work onTrio.jpg and this one I recently boughttrio 2.jpg still dirty....never seen a soldering iron or deoxit... works like a charme...
just needs a little tuning correction when it heated up... telling me the caps are "out of date" .
